Position Overview
Kununurra Country Club Resort is seeking passionate and experienced kitchen professionals to join their culinary team in the heart of the Kimberley region, Northern Territory. We have 3 exciting opportunities available:
- 2 x Chefs/Cooks
- 1 x Kitchen Hand/Steward
Located in stunning Kununurra, this casual position offers competitive pay rates, accommodation options, and the unique opportunity to work in one of Australia's most spectacular outback destinations.
Key Responsibilities
For Chefs/Cooks:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to resort standards
- Maintain food quality and presentation consistency
- Ensure kitchen hygiene and food safety compliance
- Work efficiently during busy service periods
- Collaborate with kitchen team members
- Assist with stock control and ordering
- Follow recipes and portioning guidelines
For Kitchen Hand/Steward:
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and facilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Assist chefs with food preparation tasks
- Ensure proper storage of kitchen supplies
- Support kitchen operations during service
- Maintain health and safety standards
- Perform cleaning duties as required
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- Previous kitchen experience required (commercial kitchen environment)
- Physical fitness: Must be strong and able to handle physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in hot environments
- Working Holiday Visa with minimum 6 months remaining validity
- English proficiency: Intermediate level minimum for effective communication
- Right to work in Australia
